BAKER Mrs. Robie L. Baker, 91, went home to glory on May 7, 2004. She had been a member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church for 80 years, and retired from the Atlanta Life Insurance Company following 39 years of dedicated service. Survivors include: her loving and devoted goddaughter, Thelmetia Bynum (Raleigh), of Charlotte, N.C.; aunt, Magnolia Crawford, of Williamsburg, VA; cousins, Catherine Davis (Robert) of Morristown, PA., Frederick Crawford (Juanita), of Cheverly MD; Marvin Crawford (Theresa) of Atlanta, GA., Marcus Crawford, of Newport News, VA; Roderick Crawford (Elizabeth), of Ithaca, NY; nephews, James and David Thompson, of Rockledge; nieces, Deidra Gordon (Robert), Jackie Holmes (Wendell), and Yvonne Kyle, of Pensacola; other relatives and many friends. Friends may call at the mortuary from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., also on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, in the historical sanctuary of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, 215 Bethel Baptist Street, with the Rev Dr. Rudolph McKissick Sr., and Rev. Dr. Rudolph McKissick, Jr., co-pastors, officiating. Mrs. Baker will rest at the church from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Thursday. The cortege will assemble at the church at 10:30a.m. Thursday.
