2023......It's been twelve years since Ms Shirley has passed away. I still miss her presence. Not long ago I was going to try to make some Mac and cheese( I'm not a good cook !) . Then I thought of Ms Shirley's Mac and cheese.....so very yummy . I called Robert her son and he graciously gave me her recipe. She was very particular about the ingredients / brands that she used. Anyway it was so so good ! I thought about how Ms Shirley helped those less fortunate than herself. She was a real role model. Thank You, Jesus, for having brought Ms Shirley into our lives. She was such a blessing. Dede(& Bill) Duke

Pam, my kids and I were saddened to hear of your loss. Your mom was such a sweet lady. The kids, although grown up now, will always remember how kind and giving she was.

Karen, Holly, Kurdy...I am so sorry for your loss. I still remember leaving her house and she was waiving away as we went down the street.

the celebration of the life of Mrs. Davie was a wonderful example of how Mrs. Davie touched so many lives. Her family, church family, friends, and pupils were all present to wish her a fond farewell. Thank you for sharing her with us. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts about how she was my Sunday School teacher, mentor, and kind-hearted giver of children's books. Blessings and prayers to the whole family.

Sorry to hear of Mrs. Shirley passing. But know that she is with a more precious being than you or I. With God she is not sick anymore, she is her warm sweet loving self again. May God keep you and your family in this time.

My deepest sympathy to Robert, Shirley, Cecelia, and Pamela. Ms. Shirley was a "bright spot" at our church. She was one of the Lord's very faithful servants. She collected books and gave them away to children; she supported the girl's home by buying and gathering soaps, towels, etc. for them; she often collected perishable items as well as other things for the City Rescue; she worked tirelessly for free for the church by doing things that required physical labor;she often gave us her wonderful honeybells and other citrus fruit; she was a real "prayer warrior". I will miss her words of encouragement, her always having a minute to talk on the phone whenever I called; her love of Loop burgers and a good milkshake; an occasional song the Lord had placed on her heart; and her committment to being in church every Sunday. When we reflect upon Ms. Shirley's life may we always see God's goodness. All praise to the Father for the life of Ms. Shirley. She has made us to be better servants for the Lord. She will be missed on earth but we rejoice in her salvation. We love her. ..........Sincerely, Bill & Dede (Duke)

Mrs. Davie was my kindergarten teacher. I think of her often. No other teacher made quite the impact on my life. I only wish my children could have such an amazing and Godly teacher. She is and will continue to be missed, but we will all meet again in Heaven one day. I know she is singing and dancing with the Lord on golden streets.

Aunt Shirley was the most amazing teacher, friend and mentor to ALL children who crossed her path in life. She was truly the kindest, most angelic person I have ever known. She took time with each and every child, until they learned whatever it was they were having difficulty with...She was my Sunday school teacher in 6th grade, and to this day I still remember what she taught us. She will be greatly missed here on earth, but without a doubt, heaven is celebrating her arrival and she is singing and dancing with our Lord, and Uncle Bob! LOVE YOU AUNT SHIRLEY...will see you again in Heaven some day! Until then, I know you are watching over all our children here on Earth!
Love in Christ, Cherri'

Mrs. Davie was my kindergarten teacher. She succeeded where others failed by giving up her personal time to teach me to read. I will never forget her or cease to be thankful for her efforts. The world has lost a wonderful woman, but all of heaven is rejoicing.
