VERNON HALTIWANGER Obituary
HALTIWANGER Wm. Vernon Haltiwanger, Sr., 85, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013. A native of Jacksonville, born on August 31, 1927 to the Late Hugh J. Haltiwanger, and Theresa Kemp Haltiwanger. Vernon was an Author of 4 Religious Poetry Books, he was an avid antique clock collector. He enjoyed spending his time in NC Mountains and Lake Home. He rejoiced in music as a Choir Director in various churches in the Jacksonville area. He loved his family and precious dogs. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patti Shannahan, and his brothers, Marshall and Hugh Haltiwanger. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia A. Haltiwanger; his children, William Billy Haltiwanger (Gail), James Mark Haltiwanger (Krista), Steven Steve Haltiwanger (Angela), and Ann Driscoll; sister, Freeda Rudd; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL. 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, 11:00am, Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin St., Jacksonville, FL. 32206. Rev. Terry Gore will be officiating.
