William Cline Obituary

CLINE Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com William (Bill) R Cline, age 77, of 3513 Sloop Place, Jacksonville FL, passed away Thursday June 2, 2011 at Baptist Heart Hospital in Jacksonville. Bill was born to Thomas and Lucille Cline on July 1, 1933 in Terre Haute, IN and raised in Paris, IL. Bill married Patricia Ann Fletcher on March 17, 1951 in Toledo, IL and she survives. He is also survived by his four children Thomas Cline (Debra), Jeryl Cline, James Cline (Melony), and Susan Cline (Terry). Three grandchildren Matthew Cline, Callie Cline, and Fletcher Cline and two great-grandchildren Cole Cline, Lily Cline, other relatives, and numerous friends. Bill was a basketball player for Paris High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S Army for Company H, 130th Infantry, and 44th division. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason, past Monarch of the GAO Grotto, past President of the Vermillion County Cerebral Palsy Board, served several years on the board of the Georgetown Fair, lifelong member of IBEW local 51; serving as a past Union Steward and business agent. Bill retired from Illinois Power Company after 48 years of service in 1994. Bills career was primarily served as a line foreman. Bill served on numerous charitable organization and fundraising events. He was active in many churches and events throughout his life. Bill demonstrated a strong passion for life and love of his family. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, a great love of the outdoors, family events and vacations, helping others and was a gardener extraordinaire. During Bills life he touched many lives and will be remembered forever. A celebration of Bills life will be held with his family on Tuesday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at CrossRoad United Methodist Church. Flowers are welcome, but those who wish may make donations to Rick Wilkins Foundation, P.O. Box 23429, Jacksonville Fl 32241 or CrossRoad United Methodist Church on Gate Parkway in Jacksonville. The Celebration will continue with a reception at the Cline family residence on 3513 Sloop Place in Secret Cove.

It was some 11 years ago, new neighbors moved in. Little did we know they would move into our hearts and be part of our family. We LOVE the Cline family and will dearly miss Bill. Our prayers are with you.
