Alice Mae Zack Alwran Obituary
ALWRAN Alice Mae Zack Alwran, a longtime resident of Jacksonville and Orange Park, FL went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014. A visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 13 at the Chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor Carlos Ortega officiating. Internment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Alice was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 14, 1928. She was a graduate of Berryhill High School Class of 1945. After graduation, Alice was employed with the Standard Oil Company. She married her sweetheart, John Blain Alwran on September 9, 1950, and they made their home in Florida, raising their daughter and son. Alice was the heart of her family, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also gave of her time and talents in service to her church, community and country. She was a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol during WWII, an accomplished genealogist/researcher, a 40-year member of the Kan Yuk Sa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Stafford Caldwell Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Orange Park, Florida. Alice will be deeply missed and cherished in the memories of her beloved husband of 63 years, John Alwran, daughter Robyn Alwran Baker (Bill) of Cincinnati, OH, son Roger Alwran (Pam) of Green Cove Springs, FL, four grandchildren; Kyle Baker and Samantha, Savannah and Shannah Alwran, sisters; Mary Holland (Ned) of Cherryville, NC and Margie Boger (Lutz, FL) as well as her many loving nieces and nephews. Alice is reunited in Heaven at last with her father, Charles Lester Zack, her mother, Gladys Mae Every Doyle and son, John Alan Alwran. Service arrangements are under the care and direction of Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Inc. in Orange Park, FL.
