Donna DeAnna CAPPUCIO Obituary
CAPPUCIO Donna DeAnna Cappucio passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, February 10th at the age of 76. Donna was born in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in New Hampshire and later moved to Miami, Florida, where she married her husband, Michael. They created a family with two loving daughters and recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary. Donna graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors of Science degree and became a school teacher. This was her true calling. She cherished her students and adored teaching. She loved and lived by her favorite Latin inspirational phrases Excelsior and Carpe Diem. Her other loves were community activities and service, including Project Newborn and Young Patronesses of the Opera in Miami and, most recently, Newcomers Club of Amelia Island, Red Hats, and Take Stock in Children after she retired to Fernandina Beach. Throughout her life, Donna made new friends everywhere she went due to her warm, caring, and gracious disposition. She formed many life-long friendships and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Donna is survived by her loving husband Michael Joseph Cappucio; daughters Donna Michelle and Janis Marie; grandsons Ozzie Michael and Charles Vincent; sister DeAnna Boutilier; brother Brian Boutilier; and sister Wendy Griffin. Services will be held at St. Michael s Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, February 19, at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow in St. Michael s Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations, in memory of Donna, be sent to Take Stock in Children, Attn: Sharon Collins, 76346 William Burgess Blvd., Yulee, FL 32097; phone: (904) 548-4464.
