BARBER Woodrow (Woody) J. Barber 82, of Macclenny, FL passed away February 11, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Woody was born in Climax, GA on January 7, 1932 to the late William Asa Barber and Pearl E. Adams Barber. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William Everette (Aylean) Barber; Leo (Mildred) Barber, sister Trudie (Charlie) Ritter; and son Johnny Barber. Woody is survived by his best friend loving wife of 48 Years, Eleanor Barber, his daughters LeAnne (Tom) Martin; Carol (Chuck) Alsobrook; his sons Woodrow William (Bill) Barber; James Matthew (Schell) Barber; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; 4 sisters, Mary (Billy) Mote; Myrtice (Bo) Finuff; Geneva (Buddy) Day; Virginia (Bobby) Hemanes. Woody served in the Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny, FL. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, restoring antique tractors, and spending time with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Northeast Florida Community Hospice or Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny, FL. Funeral services will be held at Arlington Park Funeral Home 6920 Lone Star Rd. Jax.
