Rickie Wayne Starling Jr. Obituary
STARLING Mr. Rickie Wayne Starling, Jr., age 39, of Yulee, passed away on Thursday evening, February 13, 2014 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, FL. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the only son and one of six children born to Marie Suzanne Roman Starling Lucas and the late Rickie W. Starling, Sr. Rickie was raised in Jacksonville and Starke, FL. He attended Highlands Junior High School and Florida Community College at Jacksonville. In 1994, through mutual friends, he was introduced to Carrie Ann Laughren. In 1996, Rickie and Carrie were married and made their first home in the San Mateo section of the Northside of Jacksonville. In 2008, they relocated to the Yulee section of Nassau County. Rickie had worked with David Gray Plumbing in Jacksonville for a number of years before launching a career as a Truck Driver for CT Transportation of Savannah, GA. While living in Jacksonville, he and his family were members of the Wingate Road Baptist Church where he was the Children s Minster and a member of the Praise and Worship Team. Rickie was a talented handyman around the house and enjoyed sharing his home renovation skills with friends and anyone needing his help. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His father precedes him in death. He leaves behind, his wife, Carrie Ann Starling, their children, Destiny Starling, Ashley Starling, Ashton Wilson, his mother Marie Roman Lucas (Richard), all of Yulee, five sisters, Tina Starling, Jacksonville, FL, Tammy Hamrick, Callahan, FL, Sherry Dees, Jacksonville, FL, Melissa Meadows, Fernandina Beach, FL, Jenny Starling, Chesapeake, VA, nieces and nephews, Kaylen, Morgan, Robbie, Kyrstin, Camlyn and Rayna. Funeral services will be at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Home with Pastor Sherman Reid, officiating. Rickie s family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
