Frances Adell Hungerford Padgett Obituary
PADGETT Frances Adell Hungerford Padgett, 91, of Jacksonville, passed away February 20, 2014 after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Madison, WI, she was the daughter of Vera & Ralph Hungerford and graduated from Weirsdale High School in 1939, Weirsdale FL. She and her late husband CF Padgett, moved to Jacksonville in 1950, she was a devoted mother of 4 children and they were faithful members of Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints, Fort Caroline. Frances worked for Western Electric and GE and thereafter owned her own catering business. She immersed herself in Civic work by leading numerous Civic, Social and Religious organizations throughout the city. Frances was honored for her tremendous contributions to Jacksonville by 7 city Mayors and received one of the 12 Who Care awards from Channel 12. Married for 57 yrs, Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband CF Padgett in 1996, her son Freddie Padgett and grandson Troy Padgett. She is survived by 3 children, daughters Joyce Reinkemyer and her husband Bob; Frances Harden and her husband Bill; son Ronnie Padgett and his wife Cathy. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and beloved friend Bill Dillow. Special thanks to the exceptional friends and neighbors who helped enable Frances to stay in her own home and kept a watchful eye on her for many years. The family also expresses thanks to all who were part of Frances s life. The family will receive friends at the visitation being held on Monday evening, February 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd, (904) 724-6384. Funeral services in celebration of Frances s life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Ft. Caroline 7665 Ft. Caroline Road, Jax, FL. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com
