Dudley James McCance Sr. Obituary
MCCANCE Dudley James McCance, Sr., 98, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. He was born November 24, 1915 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Hugh & Maude McCance. Dudley was a man of wit and wisdom (Mr. Fix It), loved God and his family, spent time in God s word, a member of Heavenly Heights Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He retired after 39 years of service as a turbine operator from Alton Box Board. Dudley was predeceased by his wife, Vera in 1993. Survivors include his sons, Dudley McCance, Jr., Donald McCance (Pat), Everett McCance (Gail), all of Jacksonville; daughters, Edith Boyd of Jacksonville , Arlene Wolfe (Bill) of Baldwin, Betty Walls (Bruce) of Callahan; 20 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11AM in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, with Pastor Lynn Massey officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at 10AM at the funeral home.
