Margaret Key Puffinburger Obituary
PUFFINBURGER Margaret Key Puffinburger, born in Roanoke, Virginia on December 26, 1940 died on March 6, 2014 after enduring the complexities of ALS (Lou Gehrig s Disease) which began May 2011. She leaves behind her beloved husband and kindred spirit of thirty one years, Dr. Theodore L. Puffinburger; two sons, Eric M. Helms and Kurtis G. Helms of Jacksonville; a step-daughter, Therese E. Puffinburger of Atlanta, Georgia; a step-son, David L. Puffinburger of Jacksonville; a sister, Sandra A. Martin of Port Orange, Florida; and two dear boys she cared about, Merrick C. Davis and Dalton J. Kidd. She was predeceased by a brother in 2012, Ellis M. Paris of Roanoke, Virginia. Margaret retired as Vice President of a local community bank in 2001 after serving 37 years. She and her husband traveled to many countries but she loved the green fields of Ireland and the wonders of the Galapagos Islands the most. They shared a love of nature, fishing, birding, and spending time on the Gulf waters. She wanted to thank the many very good friends and special neighbors that supported the family in many ways including their gifts of laughter. A gathering of friends will be held at Hardage Giddens Beaches Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville Beach on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, friends can put up a bird feeder, take a fishing trip, watch a sunrise over the water, or just plant a sunflower seed in her memory.
