Tommie Hurst Jackson Obituary
JACKSON Tommie Hurst Jackson, age 77, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away on April 3, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Mayo, Florida on October 9, 1936 to the late F. Hardie Hurst and Lula Sullivan. She was a very loving and compassionate person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Tommie loved and cherished her family and was devoted to caring for the needs of her entire family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. In her spare time, Tommie enjoyed reading, tending to her garden, traveling to the mountains and in her earlier years fishing with her husband and grandson, Brad. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Macclenny, Florida where she taught children's Sunday School Classes and served on the Benevolence Committee. Tommie was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Jackson and seven brothers and sisters. Tommie is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bernard E. Jackson; son, Jerry (Kim) Jackson of Macclenny, Florida; grandchildren, Brad (Melissa) Jackson, Brittany (Joe) Jackson Morales and Autumn Jackson; great grandchildren, Mallory and Kyleigh Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Macclenny, Florida with Dr. Edsel Bone officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Manntown Cemetery in Glen St. Mary, Florida. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Ferreira Chapel.
