Arthur "Art" Taylor Obituary
TAYLOR Arthur Art Taylor, age 80 of Jacksonville, FL passed away April 2, 2014 in Jacksonville. He was born November 2, 1933 in Hazlehurst, GA, the son of Willie Taylor and Della Hays Taylor. Art proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated a Phillips 66 station and rented Hertz Penske trucks in Jacksonville for many years. He was known for his many jokes and funny stories, and will be remembered for his honor, his loyalty, and his love. Art is survived by his daughters Jane Moon (the late John Moon), Pamela Groce (the late Bobby Groce), his son Tommy Taylor (Lisa Peeler-Taylor) all of Jacksonville; also his son Robert Bobby Taylor (Kathi) of Palatka, FL; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson; brother Roy Taylor (Mary) of Jacksonville, and siblings Helen Yawn, Bud Newham, and Betty Solomon all of Hazlehurst, GA. Funeral services for Art will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday April 7, 2014 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park with Rev. Bud Hendley and Pastor Richard E. Carney officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
