Ada Mae (Hardin) Hembree Obituary
HEMBREE Ada Mae (Hardin) Hembree, 92, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014. She was born June 16, 1921 in Andrews, North Carolina to the late Thomas J. & Elda (Creasman) Hardin. Ada had lived in Jacksonville for the past 58 years, was Baptist by faith and loved gardening. She was proud of her heritage as a certified member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Our family monarch Ada leaves us with her legacy for commitment to family and great cooking to be remembered forever within our hearts. Ada was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Vaughn E. Hembree; granddaughter, Angela G. Hembree; brothers, Wiley, Jack, James and sister, Pauline. Survivors include her sons, Larry V. Hembree (Deidra), J. Rodney Hembree (Joyce), Jerry R. Hembree (Tina); daughters, Brenda S. Delp (Don), Becky Brantley (Quincey); sisters, Mildred, Wanda; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 11AM in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, with Rev. Chris Coram officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home, 714-1110.
