John Poag Obituary
POAG John Poag, Sr, 81, passed away on April 30, 2014 in Jacksonville. Mr. Poag was born to Harold and Virginia (Green) Poag and was a lifetime resident. He was a member of IBEW LU 177 and the former Wingate Baptist Church. Among his many life accomplishments, he was a US Army veteran having proudly served in the Korean War. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George Walker. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary; his sons, John Jr, Frank and James; his brother, Donald Poag, Sr; his sister, Elizabeth G. Reed; 8 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
