HARTLEY Elizabeth M. Hartley, 85, of Orange Park, FL passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father James R. Boddie, Jr. at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 (TODAY) at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1649 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park. Interment services led by Father Rafael Lavilla will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. The family received friends on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Father Lavilla led the Vigil Service at 6:30 PM. Mrs. Hartley was born on September 16, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Jerome and Margaret Byrnes Thompson. She married Robert Lewis Hartley, Jr. and they shared 33 beautiful years of marriage before he passed away in 1979. She loved square dancing and she was a master seamstress, but above all, she loved her family. Mrs. Hartley will be remembered for her selfless love for others, the way she never met a stranger, and her sense of honesty. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hartley was preceded in death by her parents and by 2 brothers: Lloyd and Jerome Thompson. She is survived by 5 children: Robert L. Hartley, III, Shaaron Garrison (James), Nanette Brozzo, Cindy Hartley, and Robin L. Shipley (John); 1 sister, Edith McKane; 12 grandchildren: Shannon (Lanie), James K. Jr. (Kathy), Robert, Jennifer (Jerry), Michael (Heather), Raymond, Sean, Eilene, Brooks, John, Jr., Elizabeth, and Benjamin; 13 great-grandchildren: Cassie, Leah, Lani, James, III, Mason, Jordan, Tyler, Devyn, Riley, Madison, Aryanna, Rowan, and Reagan; as well as her dear friend, Howard Bryan.
