Sheryl Eve Pruett Sorensen Obituary
SORENSEN After a long illness, on August 17, 2014, Sheryl Eve Pruett Sorensen passed away at home. Hovering angels gently lifted her sweet spirit into the eternal comfort of God's hands. Sheryl was born at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL on Nov. 18, 1963. She lived at the beach since 1964, graduating from Fletcher High School and Florida State University. Preceded in death by her Nana, Colleen Doster, Sheryl is survived by her daughter, Adriana, her mother Judith Revels, her father Richard Pruett (Maria), her stepfather Jim Revels (Juanita), her sister, Shannon Maxwell (Tommy), her brother Ricky Pruett, her aunt, Ann Wilson, her nephews, Trey Maxwell and Zachary Pruett, cousins Wendy Wilson, Julie Wells, stepmother Shari Pruett, and friends, too numerous to name, who share our grief. Sherry was a fantastic dancer, a top-notch Scrabbler, an animal rescuer, a tender mother, and a loyal, open-hearted friend to everyone she met. She loved her horses, dogs and cats, music, camping, horseback riding, yoga, movies, dining out (any and everywhere), fried catfish, and traveling. Her last trip was to California's Muir Woods in 2013. She was an employee of Cypress Hospitality Group. For the many ways they helped Sherry for the past 18 months, her family thanks the Community Hospice staff, RN Iris Sirois, Mayo physicians Kurt Jaeckle, Robert Shannon, Laura Vallow, Courtney Sherman, Alvaro Moreno-Aspitia, and Mayo RNs Kathy Hebenstreit and Mary Roach. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 22nd in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home of Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, Sherry's family kindly suggests memorial contributions to First Coast No More Homeless Pets, 6817 Norwood Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32208.
