Herb Romig Obituary
ROMIG Herb Romig, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rebecca Romig; his son Herb (Libby) Romig, Jr.; his daughter Debbie (Randy) Nelson; his grandchildren Elizabeth (Joey) Powell, Brittany (Michael) Caison, Paden Skinner; father-in-law Abood Shediac; his sisters-in-law Grace (John) Carlisle and Susan (Mike) Ryan; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Herb was born on November 29, 1935, in Jacksonville to Earle and Josie Romig. After proudly serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he went to work for Prudential Healthcare, where he committed his time and talents and became Vice President. He retired from Prudential after 44 years of dedicated service. Herb immensely enjoyed his retirement and had a passion for golfing, gardening, University of Georgia football, hunting and fishing. Most of all, he treasured travelling around the world with the love of his life, Becky. A memorial service will take place on Monday, August 25, at three o'clock in the afternoon at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 849 Park Street, with Rev. Dr. Steve Goyer officiating.
