Obituary Condolences

PHANEUF Norman J. Phaneuf, 68, formerly of Herkimer, New York, most recently resided in Orange Park, FL, went home to be with his Lord on Christmas Day surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rome, NY. He served 4 years in the United States Navy stationed in Jacksonville, FL. After his honorable discharge from the U. S. Navy he returned to his hometown of Utica, NY. He worked for the Utica Post Office for 21 years and retired from the US Post Office in 1983. He was a member of Mount Zion Ministries in Utica, NY where he volunteered and taught physical education for many years. Norman is survived by his wife, Anna; daughters: Cheryl (Terry) Mobley, Eliza (Brian) Hall, Rachael (FiancŽ, Paul Lee) Andreoli; brothers: George (Catherine) Strait, James (Marcia) Strait; sisters: Eva Strait and Cora Jaikin; 7 grandchildren: Travis Hinton, Bradley Hinton, Jessica Hinton, Brogan Hall, Abbagale Andreoli, Alexis Lee and Audrey Hall. He was predeceased by his daughter, Norma Phaneuf and grandson, Andrew Andreoli. Norman will always be remembered for his passion and love for sports and the Lord. His smile and colorful personality illuminated the room when he entered. Everyone that spent time with Norman has a story to tell and a memory to share. We love him and miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Norman's life on Wednesday, January 7, 11:00 AM, at New Grace Church, 5804 Hwy 17, Fleming Island, FL with The Rev. Mike McDonald and The Rev. John Wiley officiating. The family has requested flowers or donations be made to New Grace Church in his honor.
