Hugh Edward Curlin Obituary
CURLIN Hugh Edward Curlin, 78, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, died January 3, 2010 at River Garden. He was born May 4, 1931 in Tampa, FL, to Roger and Muriel Curlin. Hugh proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and had owned his own company, Hugh E. Curlin, Inc., for 36 years in Jacksonville until his retirement three years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim; two sisters, Mary Jane and Shirley; father-in-law, Dean Kisseberth; sister-in-law, Ann Bohac, and an infant daughter, Melinda. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila; 2 sons, James (Toni) Curlin and Dean Curlin; 3 daughters, Julie (Rich) Shafer, Diana (Luke) Cardillo and LoriAnn Curlin; brother, Roger; sister, Sylvia (Albert) Boyd; mother-in-law, Eileen Kisseberth, and many nieces and nephews. He was a beloved "Bopper" (grandfather) to Alex Curlin, Noah Curlin, Aaron Curlin, Carson Shafer, Jordan Shafer, Julia Cardillo and Luke Cardillo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd., Jacksonville, FL, on Thurs., Jan. 7 at 10 AM, with Father Jim Moss, celebrant. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, Weds. at the church, with the vigil service starting at 6 PM. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors. The Curlin family would like to express its appreciation to the staff at River Garden who took such good care of Hugh during his brief illness.
