Caleb Johnson Massee Jr. Obituary
MASSEE Caleb Johnson Massee, Jr. age 55, passed away on April 5, 2010 after a three-year battle with cancer. Caleb was born June 27, 1954 in Jacksonville, FL. He lived his entire life in Orange Park, FL. He attended St. Johns Country Day School and graduated from Orange Park High School. He graduated from Florida State University in 1978 with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. After graduation, he went to work in the family business of Club Continental, where he worked in various capacities until he became general manager in 1990. Caleb helped to establish the Florida Bed & Breakfast Inn Association in 1988 and served on the board for many years. He was also a member of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce. Caleb loved fishing and boating on the river. He played in various bands and always loved his guitar. He and his wife Jennifer traveled extensively in the years prior to his death. His beloved wife of four years, Jennifer Collier Massee, and his sister, Karrie F. Massee, survive Caleb. His parents, Caleb Johnson Massee and Frederica McIntosh Massee, his sisters Marny Johnson Massee and Jean M. Patterson, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 1pm at Grace Episcopal Church in Orange Park, with his cousin, Reverend Celeste Tisdelle and the Reverend Kurt Dunkle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612, or to the charity of your choice.
