Ernest Scott Obituary
SCOTT Ernest Scott, 82, passed away January 1, 2011. He was born in Lumberton, NC and moved here in the 1950's. Ernest was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 51 years. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1955 at Calvary Baptist Church, at the age of 27. He was employed as a Master Molder for 40 years. Mr. Scott was a supporter of Camp Tracey's Children's Home since the mid 80's. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Ernest is survived by his lovely wife of 61 years, Leta; children, Susan Surgent (Michael), Ron Scott, Melanie Newton (Danny), Marleen Keehn (J.J.), James Scott (Jeanne), Bruce Scott (Jeanette), and Paul Scott (Jill); sister, Esther Cartwright; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends for visitation on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 12-2 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL, 904-388-2711.
