David Warren Hicken Obituary
HICKEN David Warren Hicken, 80, of Jacksonville passed away January 26, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 14, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL., to the late Leslie and Nettie Hicken. He was a member of Spirit of Life Lutheran Church, Lifetime member of Ribault Lions Club, Master Mason of Riverview Lodge #306, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, National Assn. of Retired Railway Employees, Member of Loyal Order of Moose-Riverview Lodge #2134. He proudly served his country in the United State Army 1946-1947 with a Medal of Victory of WWII at the age of 16, he also served honorable in the United State Naval Reserves. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Doris (Dody) Hicken, 3-daughters; Janice Cole (Randy) Pickett, Doris (Mark) Storey and Leslie Farrier, 2-sons; David Wayne (Jane) Hicken and Chris (Candy) Hicken, 20-grandchildren, 9-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, brother Richard Hicken and sister Carolyn Gupton. He is predeceased by his parents and 3-brothers; Russell, Gene, and Bobby Hicken. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of David Hicken at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church or Community Hospice of Jacksonville Fl. The family will receive friends on Friday January 28, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Nassau Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 29 at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church at 2PM. With Pastor Ellen Cross officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest book at www.nassaufh.com .
