My husband Curtis and I met Jeff in seminary and we kept in touch over great distances through the years. We will never forget that Jeff showed up at the door of our small apartment to help us move in and he made us so very welcome at Asbury. We have so many wonderful memories. Today we were notified about his death, and our hearts are heavy. Yet we know that Jeff knew Jesus and Jeff had the assurance that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We love you brother Jeff! We'll see you soon.

Pastor Oglesby and I grew up together in Cincinnati, Ohio. We had known each other since early childhood. We were the best of friends. When we were in high school, Jeffrey witnessed to me, and God worked through him to strengthen my walk with the Lord, and become a better Christian. Jeff, I thank God that when we talked in Northern Virginia two years ago, I had the chance to tell you how much your friendship had blessed me. Your time on this earth was one in which many others were blessed because you lived a life of honor and purpose. I love you my brother, and I will miss you.
Love,
Your Brother in Christ,
Patrick L. Stearns, Ph.D.

Jeffrey and I were the best of friends, a friendship that started as college students at Tuskegee University, and maintained throughout the years. I am sad to know he is gone. I will miss him. To his mother, you raised an excellent son.

Pastor Oglesby will truly be missed by my family and me. He was a great minister always sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not only was he a great minister but he was dedicated to his call. He was at the hospital with my family and me during the loss of our love one. We called him around 2:00 a,m. He arrived at the hospital around 3:00 a.m. He stayed and comforted us until early morning. Rest in peace Pastor Oglesby because you are a faithful servant of the most high God..
