Mr. Blanton was such a good neighbor to us when we lived on Fargo Drive. We were young and newly married and it felt good to have such a nice family living next door to us. Our hearts go out to the whole family. May wonderful memories bring you comfort and peace.

Dear Blanton family--
Hal was a long time friend since we went all the way through school together graduating from RE Lee in 1955. I sometimes ran into him here and there, but when I worked for the FL DOH, he came there as a fire marshall. We'v kept up with each other through FB. My sympathy to the family.

Barbara:
My heart is very sad with the loss of my friend Hal. Our friendship was always very special. During a lifetime, having more than a couple of friendships like we shared would be very unusual. I was very blessed to have had a friend like Hal and will miss him very much.
We shared many fun times growing up together. We met at Murray Hill Baptist Church when we were around 9 years old. My mind is filled with many fond memories of our days at Murray Hill Baptist, then later at Robert E. Lee High School, joining the Naval Reserves together, working part time at the A&P and various electrical supply houses, fixing and breaking our old cars, going to the beach and lakes, our first experiences with girls, etc.
Hal seemed to always be there exactly when needed. When Pat died in 1970 Hal was there with me every step of the way. When my mother and father died, Hal was there for me. There is certainly a special place in Heaven for people like Hal.
Hal left this life before anyone wanted him to. But we of faith do know Hal was simply graduated to paradise on May 3. While my heart fills with grief preparing this note, it is comforting to know my friend Hal, at this very moment, is enjoying paradise. It is also comforting that Hal has known for probably 60 years that through Jesus Christ he was headed to paradise at the end of this life.
Barbara, Brenda, and Don I know these are very difficult times for you. Linda and I will keep all of Hal’s family on our prayer list. Through my own experience I know you will begin to heal as time passes. I just thank God for having had a very special lifelong friendship with Hal Blanton.

I didn’t know Hal but I believe that I knew his dad, Harry Blanton. I was in the Sea Cadets during the mid 60’s and Harry Blanton donated a lot of his time in getting the diesel engine working for the Sea Cadets. He was a great mechanic and an amazing person. The boat was the “Gertrude B”, a forty foot steel hull boat docked at Beach Marine. If this was Hal’s dad, I wish I had known him to share a few stories about his dad. I am sorry for your loss. God Bless.

Dear Barbara,
I am so sorry for your lost. I didn't know Hal, but his picture tells me he enjoyed smiling. Life will never get back to normal as you have previously known normal to be. A new normal life is ahead of you and it will not be easy. Just take it one day at a time and know that you have friends and family that will be there for you in your time of need.
Hal is certainly in a better place now and he will be looking over you. If there is anything I can ever do for you, just let me know.
My husband passed away six years ago and I still miss him and think about him. You cannot have been part of someone's life for so long and not miss him and feel sad. Which brings me to "how to feel about the loss of your loved one." What ever you feel, is normal and don't let anyone tell you any different. We all mourn in different ways. You handle your grief any way you want to.
My hugs, thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.
