ROBERT SANDERS Obituary
SANDERS Robert H. Sanders, 96, passed away July 6, 2011. He was born October 20, 1914, in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Bob was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Robert Spanky Sanders, daughter-in-law, Wanda Sue Sanders and only sister, Rose Cornatzer. Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 76 years, Esther Garner Sanders; his sons, Robert G. Bobby Sanders and Thomas J. (Sylvia) Sanders; grandchildren, and great-grands, Kimberly (Terry) Parker, Lela and Maggie Parker, Jeffery (Tina) Sanders, Arron and Justin Sanders, Michael J. Sanders, Suzanne Earle (Bobby Sams, fianc) Garrett, and Caroline and Savannah Earle. Bob served in the U. S. Navy during WWII, in the South Pacific aboard the Aircraft Carrier, SS Shamrock Bay. He was one of Floridas oldest disabled veterans. Bob was employed by the U. S. Postal Service until his retirement. Afterwards, he and Esther enjoyed several years of travel with their Airstream group. Bob loved his family, traveling, fishing and baseball. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfathertil we meet again. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at 11:00 AM, in the Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., with Rev. Ricky Baldwin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
