CLEMENT DOWLING Obituary
DOWLING Clement Edward Clem Dowling, Jr., 97, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Mr. Dowling owned the service station at 11th and Main for many years. He was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a charter member of the North Jacksonville Council Knights of Columbus #5407. He was in U.S. Naval Intelligence during WWII. Clem was a devoted family man, loved to golf and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Marian B. Dowling. Survivors include two sons, Clement Dowling, III and James Dowling (Christine); two grandchildren, Kathryn and Jamie Dowling; two sisters, Martha Foster and Rosemary Wall; numerous close nieces and nephews, other loving family and dear friends. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, August 24, (TODAY) in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, August 25, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4731 Norwood Avenue, with MSGR. Mortimer Danaher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Catholic Charities USA, P.O.
