Richard was the first person I met when I arrived at 29 Palms. We served together for close to 4 years in the USMC. I can tell a lot of stories about Richard and we were in a wedding together as ushers, Richard and my girl friend is now my wife and we doubled dated together several times. We keep each other out of trouble and Our gunnery Sargent was also included. I have always regretted not getting together with him since 1964. We only talked once on the phone. It is now 1978 and I am just now finding out about his passing. I hope the family has had time to heal from their loss. I know he made my life at 29 Palms a little better. God bless you and yours.

Rena, I am so very sorry to learn the sad news of Richard's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. I hope you focus on and treasure what you had...not the loss because..remember and tell yourself its only temporary.
May your memories bring you peace and comfort and strengthen you.
