LEONARD EVANS Obituary
EVANS Leonard Bernard Evans passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013. He was the son of the late Emanuel and Betty Jean Singleton. Leonard was born in Lakeland, FL, and lived there before enlisting in the United States Navy. The Navy took him many places, but he returned to Florida, serving his last duty assignment at VP 30, NAS Jacksonville, FL. He served as a dedicated brother and Junior Warden of the Henry Simmons Lodge No. 379, Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliated, Florida; Belize Central America, and St. John U.S. Virgin Island, Jurisdiction, Inc Leonard enjoyed being a community volunteer and his hobbies included golfing, traveling and watching movies. Leonard is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Bonnie Sue Evans; children, Alana Morentin and Brandis Ruise; and granddaughter, Samairah Alexis Morentin. A visitation will be on Monday, February 4, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with honors and interment, immediately following at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family extends a special thanks to Orange Park Medical Center and the Brothers of Henry Simmons Lodge No. 379 and our many friends.
