JUNE PARENT Obituary
PARENT June Parent, born in Chicago, IL, passed from this life to the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 17. June was raised in Tampa by parents William and Agnes Spencer and was the sister to Sonny Spencer and Josie Agliano. She attended the University of Tampa and later, Nova University where she got her Masters in Education. She and her loving husband Rod married in 1963. They moved to Jacksonville in 1968 where they raised their daughter Lisa, her best friend. June taught school for over 40 years and epitomized the perfect teacher- dedicated, loyal, and sincere. Education was her passion. She has taught so many, including her son-in-law, Troy Hardison. The lights of her life were her granddaughter, Riley and her grandson, Sam. She has imprinted their lives forever. June served by teaching CCD at St. Josephs and more recently, as a group leader at Community Bible Study. Last year, she served as a greeter there. So many have been touched by her grace, beauty, and elegance. Her friends and family will miss her so much here on Earth but have peace knowing she is with Jesus and still loving us. Visitation will be Thursday, (TODAY) March 21st at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin from 6-8 PM. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 22nd at St. Josephs Historic Catholic Church 4214 Loretto Road. Interment will follow in St. Joseph s Cemetery.
