Obituary Condolences

HAYES Brenda Hurt Hayes, 50, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Senior Care Center. A Graveside service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013, 11 AM at Chapel Park Cemetery with Rev. Jack Pickren officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Chapel Park Cemetery. Brenda was born March 7, 1963 to Bernard E. Hurt and Julia L. Hurt in Brunswick, Georgia. She was a 1981 graduate of Glynn Academy and she later worked as a teachers' assistant with special needs children in Jacksonville, Florida at Andrew Robinson Elementary School and Highlands Elementary School. She was a member of Oceanway Assembly of God, in Jacksonville, where she also taught Sunday School for many years. Brenda loved the outdoors, from going to the beach, to fishing and camping. She even volunteered at San Matteo Little League. Most recently, she was a resident of Senior Care Center of Southeast Georgia Health Systems, where everybody loved her. Brenda is survived by her husband: John S. Hayes of Jacksonville, FL; her mother and father: Julia and Bernard Hurt of Brunswick; two sons: Isaac J. Hayes and Jacob S. Hayes, both of Jacksonville; a daughter: Megan E. Hayes of Jacksonville; two brothers: Bernie Hurt, Jr. of Brunswick and Brent Hurt (Cresta) of Brunswick; four sisters: Gayle Wilson (Robb) of Columbus, Indiana, Laura Caldwell, Cathy Jo King (Brian) and Nikki Parker (Wes) all of Brunswick; her mother and father In Law: Alice P and Jerry R. Hayes of Jacksonville; and numerous of nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 664 Scranton Road #103, Brunswick, GA 31520.
