JUDITH PETERS Obituary
PETERS Judith Blong Peters, 61, Jacksonville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at her residence on June 16, 2013. Born on the 28th of November, 1951 to Stewart and JoAnn Blong at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. At a very early age, Judy began working with flowers at McClain s Orchids in Jacksonville and continued her love of flower design throughout the remainder of her life here in Jacksonville where she owned several small businesses. She graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC and the American Floral Art School of Chicago, IL. A dedicated community volunteer, she served as the President of the Northeast Florida Florist s Association, taught courses on food and nutrition with the University of Florida Extension Office and often guest lectured for The Garden Club of Jacksonville among many other organizations throughout Northeast Florida. On December 28, 1973, Judy married her college sweetheart, Thane and together built a loving family with their three daughters. She shared with others through her talents and gifts and has touched countless lives. She is survived by: her Mother, JoAnn Blong; husband, Thane Peters; three daughters, Victoria Blackstock, Melissa Peters and Rebecca Kaufman; her three beautiful grandsons, Duncan Blackstock, Reilly and Landon Kaufman. The oldest of 8, she is also survived by her brothers, Charles Blong and Stewart Blong; and her sisters, Patricia Willis, Betty Arthur, Carol Smith and Renee Trevorah. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral services for Judith Peters will be held 2:30PM Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the Teachey Chapel, at Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, Jacksonville, FL with Dr. Keith Russell and Rev. Ray Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery, 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, (TODAY) from 5PM-8PM at the Teachey Chapel, at Westside Baptist Church.
