Obituary Condolences

CRAIG Delma Alvarado Craig, 51, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Gordon Paul Craig. Mrs. Craig was born in El Paso, Texas and was raised in Van Horn, Texas. She retired from the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant after 13 years of active duty and then several years in the Reserves. While in the Marine Corps she was a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, SC and also was a Drill Instructor for the Officer's Candidate School. In 1991 she became a Corrections Officer with JSO and the next year started her career as a Police Officer with JSO, serving in that capacity until her death. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Guadalupe and Frances Alvarado; brothers, Victor, Guadalupe, Jr., Robert, and Ralph; sisters, Maria, Veronica, and Rebecca; step-daughter, Melissa Gaskin; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Delma's Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5th in the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin, 940 Cesery Blvd. Her committal will be held the same day at 12:30 p.m. in Jacksonville National Cemetery, with Full Military Honors.
