ROSE VOELLMY Obituary
VOELLMY Rose May Voellmy, 92, passed away after a long illness when God said It s time Nana Rose on August 6, 2013. Rose was born in London, England on May 5, 1921 to the late Ernest and Elizabeth (nee Kerry) Allwright. Rose was an accomplished woman. In 1952, Rose and her late husband, Cecil Knapp, emigrated to Montreal, Canada. Her family later relocated to Washington, DC and to West Palm Beach where Rose became a naturalized US citizen in 1958. Educated in London, England at Leigham Vale Elementary and Streatham High School, Rose worked for many years in Chevy Chase, MD at State Farm Insurance Company as an Office Manager. She was also involved in the English Women s Club and was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Soccer Club fan. Rose is survived by her son, Jim and Debbie Moore-Knapp of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; grandchildren, Kerry Walker of Jacksonville, FL and David Bellknapp and Brian Knapp, both of Decatur, Ga; grandchildren, Trystan and Ayden Walker, Ryan and Kira Bellknapp; sisters-in-law, Joan Allright and Norma Allwright, both in England. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, husband Leon Voellmy, one sister, and 5 brothers. (Brother Dennis died August 8, 2013 in Eastbourne, UK.) The memorial service will take place at Christ Episcopal Church privately at a later date.
