LEONE John C. Leone, 19, of Jacksonville, died on April 20, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident involving a drunk driver. He was born May 25, 1995 in Jacksonville, the son of John "Jack" and Jeanine Leone. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated magna cum laude from Bishop Kenny High School in 2013, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was currently enrolled at University of North Florida majoring in Accounting, following in his Dad's footsteps. While a full-time student, John was also a valued employee of Jersey Mike's where he quickly rose up the ranks to Assistant Manager. John was on the former Jacksonville Barracuda Ice Hockey Team and Ice Dogs. He loved fishing, boating, diving, skiing, camping, and above all, his loving family, his many friends, and his devoted girlfriend, Kathryn Clifton, and her family. John is survived by his parents, Jack and Jeanine Leone, his sisters, Elizabeth (fiancée, Ryan Glisson), and Emily, and their family dog, Trigger. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Louise Donato, his aunts, Jean and Joanne Leone, Elaine Donato and Vicki Donato Towers, and other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was much loved and will be greatly missed by all. As John's final act of kindness, respecting his wishes, John's organs will be donated. In giving the gift of life to others, John's spirit will live on. The Memorial Mass celebrating John's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 11757 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32258. Jack, Jeanine, Elizabeth and Emily,
Words cannot express how very sorry we are to hear this tragic news. John had to be a very special young man, as God always brings home his most special children early. Just know that the sorrow you feel today will evolve to the joy of the wonderful memories you shared, and knowing that you will see John again in Heaven. Take care of each other. God has his loving arms around you now. Stay close to Him. You are in our daily thoughts and prayers. Love, Maria, Kenneth, Travis and Jacob

We are so sorry to hear about this tragedy. We are praying for the whole family and can feel the pain you all are going through as we lost our son six and half years ago at age 42 in an automobile accident also. I keep saying... "We never know what day will be our last." I am so sorry to hear of this terrible LOSS. My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I lost my oldest nephew when he was 25, and it's been almost 20 years ago now. The loss is still huge to our family. The wound still DEEP! The memories still fresh, as if they were yesterday. My condolences to your entire family. Stay close, stay connected to God. I will pray for his soul. Our parenting doesn't end with death, our prayers are still needed for those we love, who we have lost. I am so sorry..... M. Wehby
