ROOT, LINDA PAULINE - Palmyra  
Linda Pauline Root, 70, of Palmyra, formerly of Wellsboro, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at her home surrounded by family. Linda was born Oct. 31, 1944, in Johnstown, the daughter of Jennie Lark Lane. Surviving are her husband, Albert L Root, III of 50 years; daughter, Lisa A Root (Mark) Hatz of Oxford, Ala.; son, Albert L. Root IV of Jonestown; her very loved granddaughter, Katelyn Aimee Root; two step-granddaughters, Christie LeAnne Hatz, JoAnna Michelle Mitchell; a brother, Edward (Diana) Lane; a sister, Bonnie Yungwirth; beloved family friend, Sherrie Lenich; and several nieces and nephews. She enjoyed decorating for every holiday, spending time with family, playing bingo, embroidering pillow cases, visiting with friends and doing nice things for all she came in contact with. She had the most infectious smile that could light up a room. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Lark Lane. She was a Senior Regent with the Women of the Moose Chapter 60 and a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Palmyra. A Life Celebration will be held Thursday, March 26, at Evangelical Congregational Church of Palmyra. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.; service from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a dinner to follow. There will be a second celebration on Saturday, March 28, at Wellsboro Moose Lodge 1147. Visitation will be 3 to 4 p.m. with service from 4 to 5 p.m., with a dinner to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Evangelical Congregational Church, 55 W. Paul A. Ransom, 79, of Watsontown Rehab and Nursing Center went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born Feb. 6, 1936 in Sabinsville, he was the youngest son of Artie and Margaret (Owen) Ransom of Sabinsville. Paul loved music, anything mechanical and ice cream. He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Dean and Marie Ransom, Milton, Pa.; several nephews and one niece. Private family services will be held at their convenience. CROSETTO, JOHN R. "JACK" - Wellsboro  
John R. "Jack" Crosetto, 81, of Spring Hill, Fla., also of Wellsboro, died on Friday, March 13, 2015, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Beverly (Hall) Crosetto, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. John was born March 13, 1934, in Williamsport, the son of the late John Roger and Frances (Husted) Crosetto. He was a graduate of Wellsboro High School, Class of 1952. In addition, John graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. John was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wellsboro. He also was a member of the Elks Club in Hudson, Fla.; Tyoga County Country Club, Wellsboro; Penn State Alumni Association and an Eagle Scout. John was employed at Corning, Inc. for 31 years and retired as vice president of Corning Engineering. Surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly H., are his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Johnson of Boiling Springs, S.C., Col. Krista Crosetto, USMC (Ret) and Col. Douglas Henderson, USMC of Tallahassee, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Brenda Crosetto of Lititz; five grandchildren, Dominick Crosetto, Jake Crosetto, Shayne Crosetto, Pierce Johnson, Grant Johnson (Kelly); three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Sefchick. Family and friends are invited to John's Life Celebration on Thursday, March 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral service will be Friday, March 20, at 11 a.m.,, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wellsboro, with the Rev. Canon Gregory Hinton officiating. Interment will be in the Wellsboro Cemetery. Desmond Gleason, 80 of Middlebury Center, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Born March 23, 1934, in Middlebury Township, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lilah (Southard) Gleason, Sr. He served in the United States Army. KRAUSE, MABEL - Blossburg  
Mabel Krause, 101, of Blossburg, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Green Home, Wellsboro. Born in Camal, Jan. 16, 1914, she was the daughter of Grover and Pearl Holt Stradley. She was a graduate of Wellsboro High School. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Krause Sr., in 1963. She was the owner-operator of Blossburg Dairy Store. Mabel was a member of the United Methodist Church, Blossburg, past president of Business and Professional Women, and the Mary Wells Chapter of Eastern Star. She was also very active as a senior center volunteer. Mabel is survived by sons, Allen (MaryAnn) Krause of Greece, N.Y., William (Judith) Krause of Blossburg; a sister, Ada Johnson of Wellsboro; daughters-in-law, Alice Krause of Hemlock, N.Y., Dorothy Krause of Blossburg; also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Neil Sr., Mabel was preceded in death by sons, Kenneth, Edgar, and Neil Jr. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 18, at the United Methodist Church, Blossburg, from 10until 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michele Somerville officiating. Interment will be at Arbon Cemetery. Donations may be made to The United Methodist Church, 108 North Williamson Rd, Blossburg, Pa. 16912. LLOYD, VIOLET  
Violet Lloyd, 86, of Blossburg, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at The Green Home in Wellsboro. Born in Arnot, on July 10, 1928, Violet was one of 11 children of the late Clarence and Florence (Shink) Hodder. She was married to Paul Lloyd, Sr. for 57 years before his passing on March 13, 2004. Violet loved and lived for her family and their well being always came first. She was retired from Ward Manufacturing and had worked for numerous years at North Penn High School's cafeteria. Surviving are her children, Margaret (Edward) Butler of Murray, Ky., Mary (and the late Daniel P.) Signor of Blossburg, Paul "Barney" Lloyd (Kathy Barrett) of Tioga; five grandchildren, Paul (Lori) Butler of Owasso, Okla., JoAnn (Kirk) Davis of Blossburg, Amy (Christopher) Cunningham of Mansfield, Texas, Travis (Stacy) Lloyd of Ocean Pines, Md., Adrienne (Joe) Andrews of Middlebury Center; 11 great-grandchildren, Katherine, Alexandra and Matthew Butler; Jarrod and Katrina Davis; Hannah and Mason Cunningham; Kellen and Griffin Lloyd; Brynlee and Cecily Andrews; four siblings, Bernice (Harold) Clark of Wellsboro, Elsie Krause of Mainesburg, Robert (Joan) Hodder and Ronald Hodder all of Blossburg; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Paul, Violet was predeceased by six siblings; Clarence Hodder, Gertrude Gruzlewski, Virginia Nowakowski, Gilbert Hodder, Shirley Chapman and Sylvia Lamonski. Per Violet's wishes, there are no public services. Interment will be in Arbon Cemetery. Consider a memorial to Blossburg Fire and Ambulance Association, P.O. Esther W. Malleson of Mansfield, died Wednesday March 11, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband, Clatus F. Malleson and daughters, Liz Ann and Teresa. MANNING, EVELYN JANIS - Westfield, Pa  
Evelyn Janis (Ackley) Manning, 101, of 206 High Street, Westfield, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at her home with her family by her side. Born Oct. 10, 1913 in Elmira Heights, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Ina (Hunt) Ackley. Evelyn married Frank G. Manning in 1937 and they shared 60 years together until he passed away on October 14, 1997. Together they enjoyed square dancing, traveling to Florida in the winter months and relaxing at their place on Keuka Lake. She was a first grade teacher at Westfield School and was the book keeper for Ackley and Son's Store, when her husband Frank was the owner. Evelyn was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church, where she served on the altar guild, a member of the Westfield Historical Society and in 1938 a founding member of the Le Cercle Moderne Book Club. She enjoyed her flower gardens, getting her hair done at Baker's Salon, and she loved spending time with her friends and family. Evelyn is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Suzanne and Harold Ginsparg, Big Flats, N.Y.; Elizabeth and Douglas Rowland, Westfield; her grandson, Daniel Fuller, Portland, Oreg.; her brother-in-law, William Weinhauer, Wellsville, N.Y.; three nephews and their spouses, Gerald Bliss, Westfield; Thomas and Connie Bliss, Wilmot Township, Pa.; and James and Linda Bliss, Westfield. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Ann Weinhauer, in November 2014. Family received friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 West Main Street, Westfield on Sunday, 3 to 6 p.m. A funeral service was held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Monday, 11 a.m., with Father Joseph McNamara officiating. Burial followed in Champlin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westfield Public Library, 147 Maple Street, Westfield, Pa. 16950.
