Edward C. "Butch" Deming, 67 of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y.
Born Jan. 21, 1947, in Corning, N.Y., he was the son of Edward R. and Fern (Young) Deming.
Butch was the Lawrence Township Supervisor for many years. He was a member of the Elkland Moose Lodge #746, the Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Department and the Lions Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Meghan Deming and her significant other, Red Swan of Lindley, N.Y.; a grandson, Basil VanVliet; a future grandbaby due in August; his mother, Fern Deming of Lawrenceville; brothers, James and Phyllis Deming of Lindley, N.Y., Jack Deming of Vancouver, Wash.; his sisters, Donna and Stan Brown of Lawrenceville, Mary and Roger Wilcox of Painted Post, N.Y., Dawn and Gary Comfort of Gillette; a special cat, Rascal; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward and a brother, Pudge Deming of Florida.
Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, at 3 p.m.,at the Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Department, 11 Mechanic St., Lawrenceville, PA. A celebration of his life will continue at the fire department following the funeral service.
