Gary H. Baker, 72, of Wellsboro, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.
He was born Feb. 18, 1940, at home in Wellsboro, the son of the late Hugh and Blanche Mosso (Baker).
Gary was a lifelong resident of Wellsboro. He worked at Corning Glass, GTE and Osram, Wellsboro plant, before retiring. Gary was an Army
veteran. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping and fishing, as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Karina (Tim) Taft of Middlebury; son, Robert Baker of Wellsboro; two sisters, Ruth Northup, Ann Peterson of Wellsboro; six grandchildren, Charley, Joey and Tucker Taft of Middlebury, Zach Baker of Florida, Taylor and Brooke Baker of Wellsboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, brother, Robert S. Baker and grandson, Tyson Taft.
Friends and family are invited to Gary's Life Celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m., with memorial service to follow at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Shuey officiating.
