Harriet Bartlett, 94, of Tioga, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Green Home, Wellsboro.
She was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Williamsport, a daughter of Samuel and Agnes (Hawkins) Brass. Harriet and her late husband, Harold O. Bartlett, Sr., would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary March 29th.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Tioga. Harriet enjoyed her cats, working in the flower beds, roller skating and was an avid reader.
Harriet is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harold "Hobbie" and Marj Bartlett of Tioga; a son-in-law, Al Racheck of Binghamton, N.Y.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Helen Bradshaw and Fred Lamoreaux of Austin, Texas, Shirley and Robert Sullivan of Avon, Conn., Joanne Saylor-Lowe of Elmira, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Harriet was predeceased by her husband, Harold, on Sept. 2, 2013; a daughter, Norma Racheck in 1997; two brothers, James and Kenneth Brass; and a sister, Catherine Shertz.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday, April 2, from 9:30 to 10 a.m., at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m., at the funeral chapel with Pastor Debbie Button officiating. Burial will be in Beech Flats Cemetery, Canton Township.
