Hugh L. Housel, 78, of Wellsboro, died at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
He was the husband of Elaine R. (Knapp) Housel, who preceded him in death. Hugh was born on June 1, 1935, in Wellsboro, the son of the late Claude and Ina (Klouse) Housel.
He was retired from the former Borden's Milk Plant, Wellsboro, where he was employed as a tin fitter. Hugh was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Wellsboro Moose and the Wellsboro Lion's Club. He collected Hess trucks and enjoyed attending antique car shows.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in- law, Kate and AJ Himmelsbach of Lititz; Barbara and James Frost of Tioga; his sister, Mary Decker and brother, Wyland Housel, both of Wellsboro; grandson, Matthew Frost of Tioga.
Friends and family are invited to Hugh's Life Celebration on Thursday, April 17, from 1 to 3 p.m, at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Peter DeVantier officiating. Burial ill be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens.
