LaQuay S. Marks, 78 of Nelson, passed away at his home on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.
Born Sept. 15, 1935, in Farmington, N.J., he was the son of the late Thomas and Thelma (Martyn) Marks.
He was an electrician and had strong ties to Long Beach Island where he started his electrical contracting business and also owned and operated the Redwood Inn in Wellsboro, where he could practice his culinary skills. LaQuay was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. He and his wife trained hunting dogs and horses. He also was an avid collector of antique fishing tackle and spent many years attending and selling at antique shows and events. He loved to travel and has visited all 50 states and Canada and was very interested in anything to do with autism.
LaQuay is survived by his wife of 30 years, Terril Doan; his children, Steven T. Marks of Farmington, N.J., Isabelle (Kenneth) Mosca of Ventmore, N.J., Dianne Marks of Farmington, N.J.; his stepdaughter, Lisa (Mark) Rado of Monroe, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kyle and Isabella Mosca; sisters, Beverly Quinn of Santa Rosa, Calif., Tia (Jack) Nordeen of Silver Springs, Md., Joan Marks of Galloway Township, NJ; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, George Quinn and brother, Flavyan Marks.
Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 3 p.m., with the Rev.
