Richard "Rick" Stone passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Rick was born June 1, 1959, and grew up in Tioga. He graduated high school in 1977 and first served his country by joining the Navy, where he served from 1978 until 1985.
He married Patti Cook in 1979, and they had a son, Christopher Stone. He went on to marry Cindy Wheeler on May 24, 1986, and they had five children, Kyle (engaged to Angela Bourret), Nicholas, Isaac, Rebekah and Samuel Stone. Also surviving are his parents, Paul and Mildred Stone of Tioga; brothers, Roger (Lydia), Roy (Rose) and Randy (Maureen) Stone; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws; and his longtime friends, Randy and Kelly Jelliff of Tioga.
Rick was a member of Eastgate Christian Fellowship. Rick joined the Maine Warden Service on Feb. 24, 1986; served on the Warden Service Dive Team and served part-time as an associate at the L.L.Bean Hunt-Fish Store.
Calling hours were held Sunday, Nov. 4, at Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston. Services took place on Monday, Nov. 5, at Pineland Farms. In lieu of flowers, the public is asked to send contributions for the Stone children to the Maine Warden Service Association, 358 Shaker Road, Gray, Maine 04039.
