ROBERT E. ROGERS(1926-2014)

Robert E. Rogers, 87 of Oakwood Ave., Elmira Heights, N.Y., formerly of Wellsboro, died at Bethany Manor, on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
He was the husband of Edna M. (Davis) Rogers, who preceded him in death, Dec. 2, 2010. Robert was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Wellsboro, the son of the late Ernest H. and Jennie L. (Satterly) Rogers.
After graduating from high school, he attended Indiana Institute of Technology graduating with a BSME in 1954 and Corning Community College where he received an associate degree in business in 1972. In his lifetime, Robert was employed at Corning Inc., as a mechanical engineer, his main duty was engineering project manager-new construction. He retired in 1983. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking walks, dancing and collecting military memorabilia. He was a Navy veteran having served in World War II. Robert was a member of the Lions Club and Jaycees, Corning, N.Y.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Munson (Stanley) of Horseheads, N.Y.; daughter, Lisa Hayes of Elmira Heights, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Julie Gridley (Bryon), Brion Munson, Grayson Hayes, Jordan Hayes; and great-grandson, Aiden Gridley. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends are invited to Robert's Life Celebration on Friday, Feb. 21, from 11 a.m. to noon, at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro.
