Thelma G. Keeler, 86, formerly of Franconia, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Rockhill Mennonite Community.
She was the wife of the late Alvin W. Keeler, her husband of 62 years, who died June 17, 2010. Born Nov. 19, 1926, in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alma (Gehman) Freed.
Mrs. Keeler was a longtime member of Franconia Mennonite Church. She was employed with Franconia Township and worked as a crossing guard with Indian Crest Junior High School for 17 years. Mrs. Keeler was also a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening and walking.
Survivors include her sons, Timothy S. Keeler and his wife, Terri, of Telford, Terry L. Keeler and his wife, Ava, of Wellsboro; four grandchildren, Jason Keeler and his wife, Elizabeth of Wellsboro, Nathan Keeler and his wife, Cindy of Perkasie, Darrin Keeler of North Wales, Barbara West and her husband, Jacob, of Wellsboro; and six great-grandchildren, Ethan West, Jennie West, Lauren West, Hannah West, Lucas Keeler, and Micah Keeler. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Freed and Merill Freed.
Relatives and friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
