Thelma J. Berdanier, 80, of Westfield, died Friday, Apr. 19, 2013.
Born Sept. 14, 1932, in Hector Township, she was the daughter of Emerson Rexford and Hazel Esther Griffin Trowbridge.
She was a graduate of the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing in Elmira, N.Y.
On June 24, 1953, in Sabinsville, she married Albert S. Berdanier, who predeceased her in 2000.
She was a partner in Christian ministry with her husband, who served Baptist churches in southern Pennsylvania and Maryland. Mrs. Berdanier was employed with church day cares and nursery schools in Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, and West Chester, Pa.
Surviving are three daughters, Marcia Wright, Carlisle, Pa.; Audrey Berdanier, Westfield; Dawn (Wayne) Adams, Westfield; three sons, Bruce (Anna) Berdanier, Layton, Utah; Kevin (Sherry) Berdanier, Petersburg, Va.; Craig Berdanier, Westfield; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Kay) Trowbridge, Lingle, Wyo.; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Wayne E. Trowbridge.
Friends called Tuesday, Apr. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Olney Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ulysses. Funeral Services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m., in the Potter Brook Peoples Church, Westfield. Rev. Daryl M. Butler will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville.
