Daniel A. "Bud" Fitzwater, Jr., 70, of Woodridge Drive, The Villages, Fla., and of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at the Green Home in Wellsboro.
Born Apr. 20, 1942 in Wellsville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Leola (Wood) Fitzwater, Sr.
Bud was a 1960 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School and a graduate of Cornell University.
He married Margaret (Noone) on July 4, 1964.
He owned and operated Fitzwater's Western Auto on Main Street in Westfield. Bud was an Eagle Scout Troop #50, Past President of the Alleghany Mountain Baseball Association, Charter member of the River Valley Country Club, Past Chairman and member of the Westfield Borough Authority, volunteer at the Knoxville Community Association, and a past member of the Westfield Chamber of Commerce, Westfield United Methodist Church, Westfield Masonic Lodge #477 F&AM, Coudersport Consistory, and the Sunshine Fly Anglers. He was an avid outdoors man, loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed golfing. His pride and joy, love of his life, were his grandchildren.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret "Peggy;" his children, Denice (Boyd) Williams, Westfield; Dennis (Brandi) Fitzwater, Knoxville; his grandchildren, Caleb and Owen Fitzwater and Brynn Williams; step grandchildren, Sabrina, Kasey and Trevor Williams; his sister, Gail (Ben) Truax, Bonita Springs, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Dr. R. Barry (Barbara) Noone, Haverford, Pa.; Michael (Lynn) Noone, Sayre, Pa.; an uncle, Manley Harris, Angelica, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 West Main Street, Westfield, on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m.
