Deborah L. Koester, 57, of Painted Post passed away on Saturday, Mar. 9, 2013, at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post.

Born Mar. 7, 1956 in Gowanda, N.Y., she is the daughter of the late William F. and Donna M. (Robbins) Koester.
She was actively involved in several Equestrian organizations in the Central New York area including the Northampton Driving Society, the Genesee Valley Riding and Driving Club, and the Granger Homestead Carriage Museum and also attended several equestrian Dressage events in the Wellington, Fla. area over the past few years. Deborah was committed to the use and promotion of natural healing methods in treating both horses and dogs through a practice known as Myo-therapy. She had been self-employed in this field for several years through her business, Lighthands Myotherapy. She devoted her life to animals, especially horses.
She is survived by her brothers, William F. Koester, Jr. and Richard K. (Karen) Koester, both of Westfield; her sister, Susan M. Koester, Painted Post, N.Y.; a niece, nephews, aunt and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 West Main Street, Westfield, on Mar. 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ed Caster officiating. Please bring a photo of Deb or something to share to the service with you. Friends are invited to the Home Comfort Restaurant following the memorial service for a time of light refreshments and sharing.
