Debra A. Scott, 54, passed into God's arms on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla., after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1958, in Sayre, to Graydon and Christine Kinch Scott.
Debra grew up in Mansfield. She graduated from Mansfield Jr.-Sr. High School in 1976 and received a dual degree in communications and theater from Mansfield State College. Debra was a member of the Metro West Church of the Nazarene in Orlando. She was very active in her church and she enjoyed movies, the theatre, and the arts. She worked as a creative writer and online content developer for TV stations and newspapers in North Dakota, Buffalo, Chicago, Philadelphia and Orlando. She worked at Tribune Media Services Voice News Network, iVillageLive.com, Channel 13 News online in Orlando and the Orlando Sentinel Online. Debra last worked for PSI, International, writing for and creating a virtual hospital to help military doctors when they're out in the battlefield. She moved into the digital media mainstream, but still maintained her creative roots. Debra was a very humble, faithful woman of God who has been described as kind, graceful and extremely generous to everyone that knew her.
Debra was preceded in death by her mother in 1993; her father in 2005; and nephew, Alex Scott in 2003. Debra is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Nilsa Scott; niece and nephew, Ariana and Nicholas, all of Dryden, N.Y.; and niece Emily Scott of Elmira, N.Y.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at the First Assembly church in Ithaca, N.Y, 197 Bostwick Road on Sunday, Feb. 10 at noon.
