Harold R. Jones, 92, formerly of Westfield, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the Green Home in Wellsboro.

Born June 5, 1920 in Austin, Pa., he is the son of the late George and Emily (Nelson) Jones.
He worked at the CCC camp during WWII and after the war he worked for the phone company in Alaska for a year. He was an engineer with the Contel Phone Company in the Cowanesque Valley where he retired after 36 years of service. Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge #477 in Westfield, the Cowanesque United Methodist Church, Methodist Men's Group, director and original member of the River Valley Country Club, original director of the Bakers Estate, and former director of Westfield Community Antenna Association. He was an Assistant Scout Master and an avid outdoors man.
He is survived by his son, Doug Jones, Westfield; his daughter, Christine (Jace) Steadman, Knoxville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Christine Jones, Dearborn, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly; a son, Gary; and several brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 West Main Street, Westfield, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 11 a.m., with Rev. Deb Watkins officiating.
Burial will be in Champlin Cemetery, Westfield.
