Hilda J. Morris, 96, formerly of Riverside Park, Blossburg and Broadway, Pa., passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the Green Home, Wellsboro.

She was a member of the Fairmount Springs United Methodist Church and attended the First Baptist Church of Blossburg. Hilda was a committed follower of Christ and a respected member of her community. She was a lay leader in the United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher, a member of both the American Baptist Women of Blossburg and the United Methodist Women of Harveyville Charge, a member of the Grange, an officer of the Sweet Valley WCTU and held offices in Broadway United Methodist Church and Harveyville United Methodist Charge.
Hilda was born on Sept. 28, 1916, in Sweet Valley, the daughter of J. Clark and F. Jessie Masters Edwards. She was married to Freece Morris on June 26, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 2010.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Shypulefski; a son-in-law, Allen ((Paige) Michael; grandchildren, Amy and David Duty, Brent Shypulefski, Stephanie and Dan Herr, RueAnn and Fulton Lopez, Adam Morris, and Kurt and Holly Michael; 10 great-grandchildren, Callie, Nathanael, Nathan, Micah, Faith, Luke, Kaleb, Mason, Liam and Seth.
Friends are invited to call Saturday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Blossburg. A memorial service will follow there at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at the church. A memorial service will also be held in July at the Fairmount Springs United Methodist Church, 17 Old County Road, Benton.
